A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 7 (End)

The final post on my Hong Kong trip... Some remaining pics on Cheung Chau and the food. I miss the food man...

The streets of Cheung Chau

We bought the "bubble gel", where one can blow the gel to become a bubble. Such things are rare these days, I guess it shows the simplicity in their life on the island. Edmund is seen blowing the bubble here...

A cocky look on completion...

Ah! I miss these... I think its pig's stomach and they are fried till they are very crispy. I like!

Prawns. Of a different bread? They call it "lai liu ha" meaning urinate prawns. 'Cause its said that water would squirt out when peeling the prawns. Still, I did not encounter that, rather, I got pricked by the sharp shell. :( Its very sweet :) nice!

Lemon Chicken! I'm hungry now!

Hong Kong vegetables! I love them! The stems are so thick and chewy! They are really different from the ones in Singapore... Vegetables!

A night scene of the sky-scrapers in Hong Kong :)

Hilarious Happenings~!~!

I was on the train heading home with Shalom, Rochelle and Joel. As the train was rather packed, Shalom worried about not being able to squeeze out of the train in time. We told her not to worry :) We were very much engaged in our conversations until Shalom abruptly said she has reached and stop and has to leave. We bid goodbye and saw her squirm out of the crowd. She said excuse me! excuse me! excuse me! hurriedly and managed to get out of the train. We were still saying that she did it very smoothly. Yeah! Suddenly, she popped back onto the train, realising that she has just alighted at the wrong stop! Wahahahhaah... We immediately bursted out into laughter. Joel said he thinks she said something along the line of, "Oh no! Wrong stop!" Shalom could not do much except to lower her head and hope no one observed. Wahhahah... But we saw it and it was hilarious! The whole motion of trying to squeeze out, realising that its the wrong stop and hopping back onto the train before the door closes. Ha! Even the lady beside us was grinning. How embarassing! Poor girl... Hahaha... But it was really hilarious, tickling us quite a bit.

A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 6

A trip to the offshore island, Cheung Chau. It was really refreshing and gives you a different feel about everything. We had thoughts about having a holiday chalet there. Being there makes me feel as though I could gain some inspiration and start writing songs. However, it didn't happen! Ha... The beach also seemed to be a good place to reflect about life. Minhui said its a guys' thing to do. Is it?

Leb Zai, WendyMAMA, Smintz and Xiaomundmund @ the crossroads of Cheung Chau Beach Road...

Simon and I... Got to thank this brother-in-Christ of mine, without him, my life would not have been this exciting :)

Couple pics! I have learnt to immerse in the joy of photography... I enjoyed taking pics for the couples. Simin and Edmund at the beach...

Our loving couple... Simon and Minhui... I guess the weather and the surroundings made the place a romantic set...

Couple 3? Maybe not... Mother and son. Ha... WendyMAMA and Me... with Edmund and Simin in the background... Interesting pic (Courtesy of Wangdajie's Photography)
What does this photo depict? Minhui said... A mother of 2 kids on the left, with her friend who is left on the shelf! Ha... Well, totally not!
The fun begins!!!
Somehow we started doing stupid things like singing vowels towards the sea. Ha... Until now, I don't even know who started it. Perhaps us being musicians and singers, we just had to do something to release our musical potential. Sing vowels! Wendy, Minhui, Simin and Edmund in the pic...

I started to join in the fun! It was difficult taking such a pic, halfway thru, all of us would burst out laughing! Haha... It was too hilarious! In this pic, Wendy almost failed, just look at her face. Also, observe Edmund and the position of his hands! Totally RETARDED! Whoever sings with their hands up so high!

The choir of 5. Ha... This time round, we did the 5 vowels.... A E I O U, from left to right :) Edmund's hands are still up high. From this pic, we can conclude that Wendy does have a big mouth. Ha...

A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 5

In the wee hours of the morning, in our motel room...

All of us squeezed inside the tiny motel room to 练歌. I love the feeling of going overseas and yet we still need to 练歌 . As if we are some superstars preparing for a concert. Ha... But nope, we were just preparing for the 97.2fm live show and some upcoming gigs. While the 3 were busy and focused on rehearsing, Wendy was getting herself drunk! Look at the pic...

The guitar couple... Edmund and Simin...

And now, Wendy tried to get me drunk!

Wendy is weird! See brings this soft toy around, whose name is "bi bi" and she would talk to the soft toy... Haha! She tells "bi bi" its very cute.

In the midst of fun and laughter! :)

We started comparing LEGS... Guess whose legs are these...

Can you see what pic is this? Maybe because its too WHITE...

At least for this leg, something could be seen...

Music, Motel and great company :)

That night, we just freely jammed and Minhui was singing some cantonese classics. Like the 2 songs on my blog! To me, cantonese songs always sound more emotional and its filled with lots of feelings... Indescribable. Also, they give me a sense of familiarity. Its weird, but it does. I think I'm an odd person to begin with. For someone my age, I actually appreciate the classics and even old canto songs. Not just appreciate, I love them! I enjoyed that night of jamming, listening to the canto songs being sung by Minhui and in that small little motel in HK. 好有 feeling...

The conclusion I came up with. Maybe I'm 1/4 Chinese, 1/4 Cantonese, 1/4 Westernised, 1/4 European...

A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 4

On the tram ride. The tram moves at an angle of almost 45degrees. Wendy was really frightened. Ha! Just look at her expression and the way she grips the cloth of Simin...

That night we had steamboat... And we had a guest in our midst...

Thats Frances! My Da-jie... Its interesting to meet a friend in a foreign land. Thanks Frannie for recommending the place. :) It was good company that we had too... And indeed, being a Da-jie, she gave me a treat...

A pic of me drinking and Fran laughing away. Reason being? Frances said a lot of wrong things that night! So much so that I had to drink up for her "wrong-doings"...

Happy Fran and poor me...

A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 3

A highlight of Hong Kong is "The Peak"... Magnificent view, a nice place to hang out, a nice tram ride up and down the peak and a great place to experience the fullness of the weather. We also visited the wax museum that was on the peak. After hanging around at the wax museum for a while, one gets confused which is a wax figure and which is a real person. It can get quite scary.

Me playing the piano. The person beside is Jay Chou... Can tell??

A pic with the Minister Mentor of Singapore...

Do you recognise this celebrity? Real vs Fake... Its supposed to be Joey Yung. Err... "Supposed"

The magnificent view from "The Peak"

its the Word of God...

Its really amazing... Its 2.05am now and I have just finished reading the bible. Indeed God is speaking and revealing... Minutes ago I just chatted with Minhui and we talked about how a certain situation is "tensed". It was really quite upsetting :( However, Minhui prayed about it and received a Word from the Lord. She shared her thoughts with me and it made much sense. It was also nice to know that she looked to the Lord. :)

The amazing revelation is that... I read the bible and the passage that I'm supposed to read today points towards the same notion! I'm currently doing my QT based on a book called "experiencing God day-by-day", so there are specified passages from the Bible to read from. And the passage for January 20 is from 1 Peter 2 (the verses that spoke to me and coincided with what Minhui heard are 1 Peter 2:13-18) It is just so apt. Really! Amazing! Thank God. I'm praying that the situation improves also... And that the Love of God prevails!

Walk in the Light of the Lord and never despair...

A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 2

A frightened pic of Minhui and Wendy... Look closer at the roasted pigeons in the background...

Our own celebrities! They were interviewed and caught on camera! Presenting Wendy and Minhui and the paparazzi... At the avenue of stars... Wahahah... Damn funny pic!

Weird expressions...

A diary of my Hong Kong trip... Part 1

This entry came a little late, cause I initially wanted to load up a whole lot of photos, however, it gave lots of problems. Thus, I shall write a diary of my Hong Kong trip in a few entries. The pics will say it all... :)

Our motel room. A room for 2... Observe the space constraint! Its really quite cramped. But I guess, thats the trademark of Hong Kong. At first we weren't used to it, but after a while, we felt it was quite cosy after all. We did not have to use the air-con, the weather was good enough to keep us cool and comfy. I miss sleeping in the tiny motel...

A close-up pic of the toilet. It was so small that I often had to contort in order to close the door. Its a 3-in-1 toilet. You can brush your teeth, do business and bathe at the same time.

(Edmund, Myself and Simin) Simin looks unhappy that I'm in between the couple. And somehow, Edmund still looks cheery. Wahah... A pic of us at our first dining place. It was a traditional "Cha Chan Ting" :)

We went to a jamming studio! Yeah... And where on earth was the studio? It is a facility at Simon's "Jiu Jiu's" (Uncle's) condominium. And gosh... We were all in awe of the condominium. The facilities are first class, the view from his apartment is great, the service at the condo is good... Basically, it become a goal for us to work towards. To live there someday. I thought, maybe I can be a maid over there... I love this pic... the almost complete team of LOVEMEKNOT! 3 couples??

Thats all for now. Tata!

Back from HK!

The HK trip was a blast! I had loads of fun and a great getaway. Although I've been there 3 times, it was still a refreshing experience. Love travelling... And love the company. Thanks dudes. We took many many pictures, ate a lot, more and even more... I also thank God for keeping us safe, that no one was sick or really sick. I had fun trying to speak the language too. Ha! I love canto, so "qin qie". I also managed to meet up with Frances... Frannie! Thanks for the meal and for the hosting. Its nice immersing in a different culture and experiencing a different climate! The weather was good... It made our sleep so comfy. :) Ok, I'll be posting more about the trip soon.

Agenda for today... 97.2FM live show! @ 8pm-9pm. Do support!

A crazy saturday! + Jiarong's 22nd Birthday + HongKong trip

12th January '08 was a crazy day! It was a totally packed day! So packed that I didn't even have time for a proper lunch :( I started my day by waking up at 7.15am, that is really rare... And it was all because I had a photoshoot in the morning. So the photoshoot took up my whole morning, ended at 12pm... I had to rush home and head down to EchoMusic for my usual Saturday classes, from 1pm-5.30pm. After which, I had to rush down again to prepare a surprise birthday party for dear Jiarong. Her 22nd birthday party. We had a BBQ and everything ended at 11.15pm? And next, I rushed back home so that I could prepare and pack my stuff for HongKong. My flight is at 6.40am the next morning...

In a nutshell, I feel tired and drained after a long day... But, I'm looking forward to the HongKong trip. I like us being so spontaneous! Without much preparations, we are just heading there. Feels like we are going out to "Orchard Rd" rather than going overseas. Ha... Ok, my 4days 3nights jouney begins here. Got to set off for the airport now... Tata!

First Performance of the Year... 97.2FM

Yeaps, I'll be going on air again and its the same station, 97.2FM. I'll be going on air on the 17th January @ 8pm. Its another live show with DJ LeeLian. This time, we have 4 people going on the show, and thats Edmund, Minhui, Esther a vocal student and myself. I have 2 songs for my repertoire and they are...

1) 情感联络站 (Kopi-O) by 巫启贤
2) 木乃伊 by 林俊杰

Do give your support by tuning in! I hope all who do would enjoy the show too... Do listen out for Edmund's own arrangement of "Kopi-O" on his guitar! I love it. :) And its quite an honour to be singing my favourite singer's song. I should be uploading the song clips onto my blog when they are done...

So today we had our practice and boy was it hilarious! All thanks to Edmund and his GAY action on the guitar. Although he rocks on the guitar, sometimes his girlfriend, Simin does better than him. Wahahhah... Well, both are great players with their strong points. The "木乃伊" almost didn't come to live :P Still, its my honour to have Edmund play for me. I truly love his arrangement of "Kopi-O". Hope I do a good job too.

2007 has been a great year with many performances. I hope this year will be even better! Thank God for all the blessings. Thank God for the opportunities, for the people around me who believe in me :) Thanks my friends. And so, 97.2FM will be the first performance of the year 2008!

Travelling...

I initially started this blog because of my America trip. I had even thought of naming it onemonth.blogspot.com. Simply because the America trip was 1 month. Yet somehow, the blog has managed to survive for quite some time. Still, since this blog is about music, food and travel, I shall continue blogging about my travel experiences! I love travelling and travelling definitely broadens one's horizons!

My next trip is from the 13th-16th of January. Its coming! And I'm looking forward to it. I'll be going with Wendy, Minhui, Simon, Simin, Edmund and Denis. I've never travelled with them before and so it'll be a first. Lets all look forward to the trip! Eat, eat and eat! Also, I'll be meeting Frances in HK for the first time! She had better speak good canto over there. Ha... Even though the trip is in a few days time, nothing has been planned! But nevermind... we are spontaneous people, yeah?

This is my 3rd time to HK... But everytime with a different group, it'll be a different experience :) Travel, travel, travel...

Thanks Pal, Buddies for Life...

I just want to say a very simple word of thanks and to once again extend appreciation to a dear friend of mine. Thanks SunQuan, my best friend from Secondary School. Few are left of my friends from Secondary School, but I thank God and I always will be thankful for this buddy I've made. Thanks pal for the "belated birthday present and the card" and also the many words of appreciation and blessings. Honestly speaking, I didn't expect that many words. Wahaha... Did I write that much to you on your birthday? But still, every word was sincere, meant a lot and relieved memories. Many more years to come, thanks for being a true friend and pals forever~!~!

God Bless Ya, SunQuan...

A goal set for 2008

I am officially broke again. I have finally set up my ibanking account and looking at the amount left in my bank, I didn't realise I am so broke. So technology does help...

At the start of the year, I should set things right. The year 2007 was really a time of enjoyment and lavish spending. This year, I shall make it a point to be a good steward of my finances. I will attempt to save more! Save for the rainy days. Save to fund my future spendings. However, I will not forget to eat a lot and eat well... Ha...

A goal I've set for 2008. Save more, be a good steward of my finances.

The Decision is Made...

Recently I've been thinking about whether I should join Shine Models, the modelling agency that sponsored the SIM-UOL pageant. I have friends telling me that I should perhaps try it out because its a good opportunity, and why not since I am young. Even my elder brother and Dad encouraged me. How bizarre. True enough, I doubt such chances come a second time. However, I have decided to decline the offer. And I am happy that I've finally made a decision. What I should do now is to concentrate on...

1) Living a life for God
2) Music
3) Studies

I don't think I'm suited for the modelling thing, it isn't what I want. Feeling the peace of mind...

*I've uploaded another song clip, its a raw recording made in August '07... I personally like it :) Enjoy*

P.S: The other 2 singers in the clip... Don't kill me!
