The day started off with Caleb waking up at around 10plus. As usual, he wanted to wake up early to exercise but that did not happen. The day kicked off with him taking a bus down to Echo to meet with the rest for a performance at Fort Canning.
They arrived at Fort Canning and had to lug the heavy keyboard to where the stage was. Caleb needs to be stronger. The keyboard is still considered heavy. :( The crowd at fort canning was ... ... Maybe, I should not use the word crowd, 'cause there ain't a crowd to begin with. Unexpectedly, there were not many people there. Still, they set up everything and began performing. Although almost no one listened, there were 3 faithful listeners. Wang Dajie, her student, Peifen and another guy who came to find out more about the school. Even if there was just an audience, we would still perform. That wasn't the disappointment. What did not go well was the sound system. The sound system would 'EXPLODE' on every song we performed. YES! The sound system would EXPLODE. It would go... 'BOOM!' and suddenly, the sound of Caleb's keyboard would be extremely loud. There was sequence to it. The sound of my keyboard was very very soft, almost inaudible, and 1min 40secs into the song, everyone should have placed their hands on their ears in anticipation for the 'explosion', BOOMED! Therefore, I would adjust the volume on my keyboard and 30secs later, the volume goes back to being inaudible.
Many things could have been better. Still, I thank God for the experience. From everything, something can be learnt out of it. I got to say this again... WendyMama is super good on stage! From the moment she started talking on stage, I was SHOCKED... hahah... She is someone who would get the crowd's attention and the crowd alive! I believe so. She is so full of energy, talks non-stop, captures one's attention and knows how to handle the situation. I enjoyed myself playing on the keyboard which was inaudible half the time. :) Also, from this I have learnt to play more songs and hope I have improved at least by a little. :)

Define... "Caught Red-handed"
I had tuition with my lovely p4 class on Tuesday. A word that I had to explain to them was "caught red-handed". How would you go about explaining the term to someone? I said something like this, "For example, if you are stealing something and someone witness what you are doing, you are 'caught red-handed'."
My student replied... "Ah! I know. So if I'm going to the toilet and someone sees me, I am caught red-handed." I was laughing inside but I had to stay cool to explain to her. Ha! She is cute man. I enjoy having conversations with her... So CUTE!

abt life... and a short entry
I promise that this entry is to be short. My life... it has been really busy and filled to the brim! However, things can be better. One is always lacking and, I am... Life can definitely be better. I am feeling I need people to support me, and I should not be depending on myself. Friends... God placed them around me and I am thankful for them. I am going to pull up my socks! I need patience...

Grass Jelly Drink
After a long walk from the mrt to the tuition centre where I teach at, a cup of cool grass jelly was what I looked forward to. It was great that there was a drink stall which sells grass jelly. :) I asked the uncle for a drink. It took him a while to prepare the drink cause he was keeping the water hose, using his bare hands. When it came to the drink, he again used his bare hands to scoop the ice for my drink. HOW CLEAN AND HYGENIC IS THAT? What went through my mind was the amount of germs, bacteria that is in my drink. :( Sadly, I didn't reject the drink... It is said that some bacteria in our body would build up our immune system. And thinking about it, I am sure we are exposed to tons of bacteria each day...
Still, I wished my drink was handled in a more hygenic way.

its finally over! a very busy week...
This week was crazy! I had 2-3days that I was totally packed. Thursday was my most hectic day. It was filled to the brim.
10am- Woke up and familiarised with the song for finals
12.30pm- Practice with Fadhillah at my place
4pm- Tuition @ Tiong Bharu (Had to cab down)
5.30pm- 1hr journey bus ride home (Finally had a chance to breathe and rest)
7pm- Keyboard Lesson @ Echo
8pm- Drove down to Fadhillah's house (Choa Chu Kang)
9pm- Practice at Fad's house
10.30pm- Left her place (looked for food... dinner time)
And I went home to use the net, watched a little tv and went to bed. Wanted to wake up at 7am to prepare myself for the finals ... yet, I woke up at 10am! I was supposed to be in school by 10am! Cabbed down again... :( Anyway, we won 3rd for the singing competition. :) We are glad... both Fadhillah and myself. Seriously I didn't think I would enter the finals and be top 3. I thought I wouldn't even be able to pass the auditions. We've put in the effort, sacrificed and... the outcome was good. Praise the Lord! The whole experience was fun :)
Here, I want to thank all my friends for the support they have given in this competition. :) Hahahh... I'm talking like I've won some BIG competition, when in real, its only a small thing. Still, I am grateful to my friends. Some of them came down specially to school to support us. Thanks! Thanks to Minghui, Amanda, Kellyn, Joys (although you didn't hear me sing!), Sebas, Chong, Mel, Ver-lyn, Darren, Chee Siang, Suiying, Rin (although Julian and Fiona were more of an attraction :P)... etc. Thank evofus for the moral support! Thanks Diya for the minus 1! You did more than expected! Also, thanks to Algene, Roche and Roanna. :) I am just grateful to be blessed by these people around me. :) Thanks to God for settling me well in the school. :)
Our prize! Thanks Fad for asking me to join the competition with you. I'm honoured :)

SIM Duet Superstar...
Malay/Chinese couple...
I recently joined a singing competition. Its a duet singing competition in my school, SIM. My friend, Fadhillah messaged me one day to ask if I am interested to join the competition. Well, I accepted the invitation. :) She is a Malay so we've been doing songs in malay and chinese. We would either pick a malay/chinese duet or change the lyrics. I would say, she has great talent in malay lyrics writing! Anyway, we passed the auditions, went into the semi-finals... and now, we are in the finals. 6 pairs left and the competition is strong! Although the prizes are quite lucrative... $500 for the first prize, I doubt I can get it. So... I will just enjoy the process. :)
Thanks to all who came down to support me during the semi-finals. My SIM friends... Minghui, Amanda, Sui Ying, Chee Boon, Darren, Ben, Mel, Joys, Kellyn. Also, my church friends came down! :) Thanks Diya, Rochelle, Roanna and Sophia (Diya's "mei"). Thanks to all the support and prayers from others too... Thanks Helena.
Mistakes I have made for the 2 rounds of competition. I forgot my lyrics!!! But somehow, I seem to be quite good at going with the flow and just substituting words of my own. Ha... The first audition, I forgot my chinese lyrics and I just filled up with words that came to my head. I doubt it made sense. On the semi-finals, I forgot my lyrics again! This time, the malay lyrics. Still, I managed to any-old-how add some malay fillers in. Fadhillah told me that I mentioned about ghosts when I sang! Maybe I had used the word 'hantu'. Hopefully, I will not forget my words anymore! And, hope for a good last performance in the competition. :)
My new found friends... SIM peeps :)
Church peeps + Sophia ...
I was so nervous I was perspiring like mad!

Our Rolly Polly...
10 September. The birthday of 'Rolly Polly'... our dear Isaac. Managed to have a gathering and mini celebration for this dear brother. Dinner at Fish and Co' with a birthday cheer, rap and song. Its been quite long since the group of us met up with each other. Thank God for the time spent. Seems like Zac likes his birthday present very much. :) Thats good... :) Good taste Jonnie!
I've known this brother for 9 yrs now. How times flies. Back when I was in Pri 6 and he was in Sec 1. I was new in church and Karen would bring me along for the youth outings. Ha... And she mentioned about her 'xiao di', Isaac, saying that he is easy to get along and since our age gap is close, we should be able to get along. My first impression of him... Emm, quite an outgoing BOY, but only got to know him better and became buddies when the both of us serve in SR. Being the ONLY guys then, 'wo men xiang yi wei ming'... Hahah... and because of that, we have so many 'sisters' now. He used to be very very BALLOONED. Now, he has slimmed down a LOT! Even skinnier than me... is he taken?? Emm, that leaves for discussion... Wahahah
Anyway, I wish you a great year ahead... Blessings in your remaining time in the army, to be injury free, enjoy your time. Blessings on your future path... be it your future partner, studies, work... etc etc. And, stay close to the Lord. Cliche but... its true... Be more proactive in church! Even more proactive!
Alrightz... pics.
Birthday Boy... This look looks constipated!

are we able to discipline ourselves?
There are many goals and tasks that I wish to accomplish but often, my words does not continue with action. It is a sad fact. :( Especially when I am not pressurized to do something. (So that does not mean that you can't entrust me with something ok...) Its the start of the week, in fact, Sunday and Monday has passed... I really need to get on track to set my week right. The beginning of everything is always so important, once we lose track at the start, it is difficult to get back. At least its the case for me.
I have been so packed and every day just seem to go back. At the end of the week, I don't seem to have accomplish much. Maybe I have, it is just that it does not occur to me. Whatever the case, I do know what I want at times and I have to discipline myself. I pray that I would have more self-discipline/self-control. I guess thats the one thing of the fruits of the Spirit that I need the most now. I need the be a discipline master to myself...
I shall see how much I have accomplised by this week.

Time is Running Fast Away...
These days, everyone seems so busy. Arranging a meet up is no longer an easy task. I am glad we finally met up! The 5 of us... Evofus. Old friends + Good food = Great combination. Thanks Wanping for organising a 'room warming' :) and for the GREAT food! I really hope we can meet up more often. And while normal meet ups are difficult, we are in the midst of arranging an overseas trip!!! How cool and challenging is that. [Xuan... Don't need to think so much about it, we will discuss and plan together. :) ] Hopefully, it will materialise, but Jasmine can't come along... So sad. :(
Talking about time, that day I was having a conversation with Roanna in school. She was telling me how she led her life when she was on attachment. Everyday was just work, home and sleep. She would 'knock out' at 8plus, 9pm, sleep till the next day and work again. The conclusion was when we begin working, time will just fly by... Soon, we will be old. :( I really do not want that to happen. I really hope I use my time wisely and that every minute will be spent with accomplishments. Yet, I am not living up to it now. My prayer has always been to manage my time wisely and to be discipline... I really hope that happens.
Time for pics!
Dear Evofus... I'm the thorn among the roses...
Our feast! Cheesy Bites Fondue, pizza of the day! Wanping actually ordered $75.30 worth of pizzas!!! I have never ordered above $50! Thanks girl :)
Deluxe cheese pizza! Sinful...
All time favourite... Hawaiian... :)
Do you think there is something wrong with the pic? It just shows that Wanping, the photographer of the pic doesn't have good photography skills. It doesn't do justice to the food at all! Bad angle... :P Hahah (but the food is still as nice... meatballs and chickenballs) Yummy!
Candid shot...
Greedy-ness in action!
Woohoo~!~! I love this pic so much! Do you know why this happened? I set the camera to timer... 2secs timer! And no one expected it except for me. :) Try this next time! And you would get some... Monk*y faces... Wahahah...
Love ya... Evofus... and all my friends... :)

《天冷就回来》 IF THERE'RE SEASONS...
The poster for the musical... 《天冷就回来》
Finally something exciting and interesting that I did during the week. Hahah... Sounds like my life is pretty mundane. Anyway, I watched a musical today! It is the musical that I could not get the tickets for... cause it was sold out! Thanks to Wendy, I managed to get a ticket for myself and my elder brother.
I would rate the musical to be 4 out of 5. Good musical arrangement, good plot, smooth flow from scene to scene, good acting, nice music, nice harmonies... etc etc. However, I would think the singing can be better. Whatever the case, I enjoyed it. Somehow the plot was something I thought I could identify with. Ha...
The story touches on love, ambitions, ideals and our roots. A good combination of everything. The story goes as A-Le, a man with musical ideals loses his girlfriend because she contracted an illness and passed away. He then embarks on his journey to New York, trying to carve a name for himself. Along the way, he meets a group of fellow Singaporeans and 2 good friends Rose who became his girlfriend and A-Qiang, both of whom share the same interest. Ultimately, they return to Singapore, the place where they belong. :)
The musical is based on Liang Wen Fu's works. His works are rather simplistic in some sense, yet, it has A LOT of feelings, emotions and a local flavour. He definitely represents the music of Singapore. And the fantastic thing about the music is how they managed to come up with a plot that moves from one scene to another smoothly, and how they integrated the songs inside. :) It was also nice to hear different arrangements of the songs. I think that is the interesting and fun part about music arrangement. A specific melody could sound different with different arrangements. However, when they used a minor-ish style on a particular song, it sounded in discord. :( Nevertheless, it was nice... Especially the jazz versions.
Lets talk about the cast. There is George Chan, the male lead; one of the judges from dance floor. I didn't know he could speak and sing in mandarin. He worked overseas for a couple of years. It is good being billingual... :( The female lead is Joanna Dong. A friend of my elder brother. I enjoyed her vocals, unique and powerful. She was in the top30 for the first season of Singapore Idol and is a resident singer at Ooosh. Would like to hear her perform again. Another male lead is (Chen Rui Biao), I only recognise him for being the winner of a singing competition on TV a long long time ago. Sadly, in the show, his role is a homosexual. Sad to say, that part was a little weird. He was singing a love song to his EX, acted by (Zheng Zhan Lun) an old time singer. In the show, his sexuality and relationship wasn't questioned. Everyone treated like it was normal. A little odd. Well, maybe because such relationships are rampant these days, it was added to reflect life. Anyway I think it is fun acting in a musical. Singing, acting, dancing... :)
Thanks again to Wendy who got the tics! The bad thing was we were late and had to stay outside for 15mins. :( The next show is in 2009. People who are interested to catch the show, do look out for it. :) Time for me to work hard if I really want "IT"...
A picture of Wendy and Liang Wen Fu, with his autograph on the book!!!
(Sorry that the pic is a little blur :( I should really bring my camera everywhere I go!)
